Follow the Instructions Closely
- Find the right bolt pattern. Before you can install your new Holley Sniper system, you need to ensure that you’ve selected the right one. There are a few different Sniper systems on the market, and one of the primary differentiating factors is the bolt pattern found on each. Different manufacturers have different bolt patterns, so you need to ensure that you choose a kit that’s compatible with your vehicle.
- Ensure you meet minimum requirements. In most cases, when you are installing a Holley Sniper EFI Master Kit, you will need to upgrade the fuel system in your car. This is because the Sniper EFI needs a fuel pressure of at least 58 to 60 PSI in order to operate. It also requires a 10 micron filter. If your existing setup does not meet these specifications, you need to do some upgrades prior to installing the Sniper system so that you can be sure it will meet all requirements.
- Replace the fuel line. Most vehicles feature a 5/16″ fuel line that’s made of rubber, but this hose won’t meet the demands of your new Holley Sniper system. Because the Holley Sniper relies on a higher level of pressure throughout the fuel system, it’s important to invest in a fuel line that will be able to accommodate this level of performance. Prior to installing your Sniper system, then, you should consider investing in a 3/8″ hose that’s specifically designed for fuel injector systems.

- Determine whether you need a fuel pressure regulator. When you’re choosing the right SBC Holley Sniper, you need to first determine whether or not you need a new fuel pressure regulator to go with your new system. Most Sniper kits come with a fuel pressure regulator that’s been pre-installed, but some — including certain blow-through applications — do not. In this instance, you will need to invest in an external regulator that supports a fuel injector system.
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Although the Holley Sniper system is designed to be easily installed by automotive amateurs, it does require a baseline knowledge of a car’s engine, fuel system, and battery. If you don’t possess this knowledge, you could be putting yourself and your car at risk by installing it incorrectly. It’s important to ensure that you get support if you have any questions.
